Pinhole Camera Photography by Jeff Korte Pinhole photography takes away many of the steps usually needed to record an image to film. Pinhole cameras don't have a lens or viewfinder. There is nothing to "focus" on and there is no way to know exactly what is being exposed on the negative. Exposures are made by allowing light to pass through a very small hole on the front of the camera. Because exposures may be a half-minute or longer, subtle details in the image may be added or removed. Crashing waves melt into a swirling fog and sweeping clouds leave their trails across the sky.
